How to connect Mercado Pago to your business

Before you start

Connect the Mercado Pago account that will receive your restaurant customer payments. Bocadium recommends OAuth, so you do not need to copy and paste an Access Token manually.

• Sign in to Bocadium with an owner or a user allowed to configure the venue.
• Make sure you can sign in to the business Mercado Pago account.
• Mercado Pago for customer orders is separate from your Bocadium subscription payment.

   In the backend sidebar open Settings → Payment methods.

   Find the Mercado Pago card. Its initial status should show as not connected.

   Choose “Connect Mercado Pago”. Bocadium will redirect you to Mercado Pago to authorize the account.

   Sign in to Mercado Pago with the correct business account.

   Review the authorization and approve the Bocadium connection.

   After approval, Mercado Pago sends you back to Bocadium. You should see Connected and the authorized account identifier.

3. Enable Mercado Pago at checkout

   Enable “Activate Mercado Pago at checkout”.

   Press Save.

   Use “Test connection” to verify server-side that Bocadium can access the authorized account.

4. Run a real order test

   Open your public venue profile or the marketplace and add a product to the cart.

   Go to checkout and make sure Mercado Pago appears as an enabled option.

   For a production test, place a small-value order and verify the payment in both Bocadium and Mercado Pago.

How payments and the Bocadium fee work

The restaurant receives customer payments in its own Mercado Pago account. When a Bocadium fee applies under the plan, the Split flow calculates and records that portion without making Bocadium the recipient of the full order value.

Mercado Pago processing fees are separate from the Bocadium fee. Cash, external transfers and other manual payments do not generate a Bocadium fee.

Common issues

• “OAuth unavailable”: the Bocadium Mercado Pago application still needs platform-level configuration.
• You returned from Mercado Pago but it still shows disconnected: retry authorization and verify the correct account was used.
• It does not appear at checkout: verify the connection is active and the checkout switch was saved.
• The technical authorization is renewed automatically when a refresh token exists; normal expiration should not require reconnecting.
